IMPORTANT: Please read the following information regarding license and software conversions.
To convert a license from V9 to V10, you must first export your V9 license from the IceWarp Administration Console (Menu->Help->License->Export License Information).
For Users with a Non-Expired V9 License (with upgrade days remaining)
If you are converting a non-expired V9 license into a V10 license, modular support for unlimited users will be preserved, and can be immediately used once the conversion is complete.
For Users with an Expired V9 License (no upgrade days remaining)
If you are running V9 and have no upgrade days available, you will be issued a V10 license that matches both your V9 feature set and the original expiration date.
You cannot install V10 and use your original license; instead, you must first upgrade the existing V10 license using our online upgrade process.
Regarding Unlimited User Licenses: Moving forward, IceWarp will discontinue support for unlimited users. However, an exception will be made for existing customers that already have unlimited licenses; they will be permitted to keep it.
To Customers that Currently Have an Unlimited User License:
Converting and Unlimited License: When you convert from V9 to V10, you will keep your original license for unlimited users – and will be able to extend unlimited licensing for an additional 2 years.
This will preserve your current investment in the product you have already purchased, ensuring that you continue to benefit from an extremely low ROI
Before you can convert the software, you must convert the license as shown above.
To convert to V10, simply overwrite V9 with V10. A valid non-expired V10 license is required to install V10. During installation, all settings, accounts, data and databases will automatically be preserved.
Backup all databases before beginning the conversion process. Installation paths and databases will be automatically converted to V10 structure, which is not compatible with V9. You can view our backup and recovery webinar here .
IceWarp Server Version 9 cannot be successfully installed over Version 10 once the upgrade has been completed. If you need to re-install Version 9, you must do so by uninstalling Version 10 first then restoring Version 9 as described in the webinar above.
